Dear Mons on,
FOREIGN OFFICE,
S. W. 1.
15th January, 1941.

You will remember the matter of the silver articles for presentation in recognition of services rendered by various bodies and individuals in the Philippines in connexion with the evacuation of British women and children from Hong Kong to Manila. These articles have been packed ready for despatch via Hong Kong and the purpose of this letter is to ask you, to be good enough to advise the Colonial authorities concerned with their transmission to Manila that these packages should be very carefully handled. It would, as I am sure you will agree, be a very great pity if the articles arrived at their destination in other than mint condition.
Yours emcirely
J. V. Perowne
W.B.L. Monson, Esq.
